Welcome to our practice
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is a client-centered health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable people to participate in their personal activities of everyday life, also known as occupations. Occupational Therapists achieve this outcome by working with the client to modify and enhance the occupation or the environment to better support their need.

Occupational Therapists have a broad education in medical, social, behavioural, psychological, psychosocial and occupational sciences which equips them for this role. Occupational Therapists work with all people, including those with body structure or function impairment due to a health condition, or those who are restricted in their engagement in daily activities due to psychological or psychosocial factors.
What we do
Our therapy is guided and inspired by the Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) model (Law et al., 1996).
In order to assist our clients to achieve their occupational goals, we work closely with the person - their aspirations, strengths and limitations; we utilise and enhance their occupations using therapeutic techniques; and we always consider and (if need be) modify their environment to support their needs.
Our therapists are trained in the Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) approach, and we guide our clients through the stages of fundamental self-care, to complex daily activities such as work and driving.

I’m most appreciative of the high level of cognitive and upper limb therapy that I’ve received in my recovery thus far.
